WHO’s Women’s Health Commission for Africa Launched
Distinguished panel of commissioners to undertake comprehensive review and make recommendations for action.
In a major new initiative The World Health Organisation on 14th April 2010 launched an urgent new enquiry into the reasons for the current crisis in women's health in Africa and into the action priorities necessary to address the key issues rapidly.

New: Fistula Surgery Explained
A range of expert clinical guides to fistula surgery have just been added to the site. Resulting primarily from the work at the world-renowned Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital these include an introductory textbook First Steps in Fistula Surgery, and advanced textbook, Obstetric Fistula Surgery, lecture notes on fistula surgery and a 70 minute film (available in shorter sections) on fistula surgery techniques.

New: Atlas of Obstetric Ultrasound
The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) have just contributed an outstanding atlas and reference to obstetric ultrasound. Prepared specially for The Global Library of Women's Medicine under the editorship of ISUOG President, Professor Gianluigi Pilu, this atlas provides new insights into diagnostic ultrasound and demonstrates in an exceptional way the state-of-the-art, high definition images that can now be achieved (the final sections of the atlas are still to be added).
